Top 10 Worst Cities for Traffic

You call that Freeway!? Back in New Jersey, the Garden State Parkway, the freeway connecting northern and southern New Jersey was my daily commute from little town in central Jersey to busy Metropolitan Manhatten. I don't know why they call freeway a parkway. Some people say it's probably the park like view along the way. However to a daily commuter to New York like myself, parkway is more like - park your car on the way - as morning traffic took me two and half hours instead of the normal 40 minutes drive.

So I guess now many freeways in US should probably renamed to parkway as the annual delay per driver is now 47 hours per year. According to Texas Transportation Institute, the cities with the worst traffic problems are:
  1. Los Angeles, Long Beach, Santa Ana, California
  2. San Francisco, Oakland, California
  3. Washington, D.C.
  4. Atlanta,
  5. Houston
  6. Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Texas
  7. Chicago
  8. Detroit
  9. Riverside, San Bernardino, California
  10. Orlando, Florida
